The Sonoma County Law Enforcement Association, a 501 c(5) non-profit organization, was formed in 1962 as the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Employees Association. Through the years, the membership of the organization became more diverse and the name was changed. The Sonoma County Law Enforcement Association is recognized by the County of Sonoma as the sole bargaining unit for more than 500 County employees from six different departments within the County:

Sheriff's Department (Correctional Officers, Correctional Sergeants and Dispatch)
Probation (Deputy Probation Officers and Juvenile Correctional Counselors)
Regional Parks (Park Rangers)
Emergency Services (Fire Inspectors)
District Attorney's Office (D.A. Investigators)
Human Services (Welfare Fraud Investigators and Residential Care Counselors)
